World Environment Day Celebration

On the 6th of June 2016, Eden celebrated the World Environment Day with students from 12 schools in Gura Topp, Du and Rayfield communities. Students from six schools presented the various benefits of trees and we had a quiz competition between two schools on what they have learnt during the on the farm education programme they attended. The event was wrapped up with a tree planting exercise and every school planted a tree on the farm which was Canarium schweinfurthii (an indigenous tree species). Each school were given two species of native trees (African Locust bean tree (Parkia biglobosa) and Jacaranda mimosifolia) to be planted at their schools
