Nigerian Youths celebrating International Forest Day

In her bid to effortlessly spread the message of creation care to the Nigerian community, EDEN organised to celebrate the international forest day with youths of Latiya, Gura-Topp and Rayfield communities in Jos South LGA of Plateau state.

...the media men were also present to further spread the word of creation care.

They were informed about the environmental crisis in Nigeria through viewing a video tagged “No where to Run” a documentary of the environmental situation in Nigeria.

The video made them aware of what has been happening in the country especially the threats our Nigerian natural heritage were facing due to increasing population and demand. They also expressed their views and encouraged themselves to keep spreading the message and plant more trees in and around their homes.

They were also made to understand that for us to sustain our demand for energy we need to take care and replenish our natural resources.

We brought the message home to what EDEN was doing at the fish farm and the woman caught felling a tree at the fish came to understand why we had to stop her from continuing in the act as she was made to attend the programme by the EDEN staff team.

Each participant went home with an Albizia lebbeck tree to plant either at their home or farm stead.
